these are soooo yum
i made the vegan option for a party a few weeks ago and everyone loved them

2 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, softened (for vegan, use earth balance)
1 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar in the raw
2 large eggs (for
vegan, use EnerG egg replacer)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)

Yield: about 3 dozen

_preheat oven to 300
_in a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
_in a large bowl with an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until just combined.
_add the flour mixture, toasted pecans, and
choc chips, then beat on low speed until just blended.
_drop the dough by the rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 mins, or until golden. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
